Right here in Lower Village Kennebunk / Kennebunkport there are several great ways to connect with the outdoors and enjoy a day on the water. The famous Nick's Chance Whale Watch is docked on Western Avenue downtown Kennebunkport. This whale watching adventure lasts 4 & 1/2 hours, and cruises 20 miles into the Atlantic Ocean to view whales, dolphins, and much more marine life of the Gulf of Maine.
The same company offers more than just whale watch tours. They also have a wonderful 1 & 1/2 hour Scenic Lobster tour. Kylie's Chance tour boat will take you on a voyage (departing from the same dock as Nick's Chance whale watch) down the Kennebunk River and along the Kennebunkport coastline. On this trip you will se seals, former President George H.W. Bush's home, and how Maine Lobster is harvested.
All cruises depart from Performance Marine, behind the Big Apple Mobil station on Western Avenue, Lower Village Kennebunk. For reservations and more information call: (207)967-5507 or 1-800-767-BOAT, or visit them on the web at http://www.firstchancewhalewatch.com/
Both cruises will make your vacation unforgettable !

Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge
The Rachel Carson wildlife refuge provides us with a unique view of nature at its purist. The wildlife reserve is open daily from sunrise to sunset for bird watching and self-guided tours. The purpose of this refuge is to protect coastal saltwater marshes for the wildlife in Kennebunk and any southern Maine coastal area.
The one mile self-guided trail is located on route 9 just at the Kennebunk / Wells border. The Rachel Carson wildlife refuge is one of many ways to enjoy Maine's great outdoors. This is a great place to try out those bird watching skills, and take in the beautiful nature all around you.
